Competitive Awards

• Award year November 1 to October 31

• Qualification – rider/driver/handler and owner must be a NFHA member at the time the submission for the award is made.  The score or placing can be earned prior to a member joining during the award year.

• Fee – included in the NFHA membership for the first horse, each additional horse is $10 per year.

• Divisions – Senior and/or Junior. Levels to be determined by entries.

• Minimum of one score; no maximum number of scores, multiple. If multiple scores are submitted, the highest (or best) score will be considered for the award.

No emailed submissions will be processed.  All applications MUST BE completed online through our web site submission form.  Scroll down for the submission form. 

• Ribbons to sixth place for competition awards. 

• In case of a tie for the same place, both entrants will be given the same award but the award below is not awarded. For example, a tie for second/reserve, both will be given second but third will not be awarded.

• For classes that are not scored but placed by a judge’s opinion, data must be submitted indicating the number of entries in each class.   The awards committee will review the entries and make appropriate year end placements. 

Disciplines

• Dressage – Submit the percentage score for the test at levels Intro - Grand Prix. Musical Freestyle is a separate category.  All tests at all levels at dressage shows, includes Western Dressage.

• Eventing – All levels at Horse Trials and 3-day events.  

• Driving (CDE/CT/HD/ADT) – All levels.

• Jumper – All levels.

• Hunter – Flat classes and over fences for each division. 

• Reining – All divisions

• Distance – All endurance, competitive ride, and ride and tie events. Log the distance completed per day and submit the total distance for the year.

• Competitive Trail Event – Any Trail Challenge type competition and any Competitive Trail Ride event where obstacles are scored.  Can be ridden or in-hand. Submit placing and number of competitors in the level you are competing.
• Western – All classes requiring western tack and ridden at walk, jog, lope gaits.

• Working Equitation - Submit the Dressage and Ease of Handling percentage scores for your entry.  Scores must be earned at the same show.

SUBMISSION HINT:  There is no need to wait until year end to submit for an award.  All submissions are saved for the current award year.  The best score submitted will be used for the placings.

All competition awards submission should use this form.  Submissions are FREE and UNLIMITED.   Apply separately if your Fjord is competing in multiple disciplines, such as dressage and jumping or if submitting multiple scores in the same discipline for the Fjord.

For Working Equitation submit two entries in the class and score field below. Example format for Class: Dressage and EOH Example for Score: XX% and XY%


Indicate the level or division for the show. Example, dressage - introductory, training, 1st, etc. Combined driving - training, preliminary, intermediate, etc.

Schooling

Recognized shows are sponsored by national or international organizations such as the FEI, USDF, USEA, USAWE etc. Schooling shows may have local sponsorship but do not offer points for national or international awards.
