Open Letter to the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry

and the Norwegian Fjord Horse Community

The Norwegian Fjord Horse Alliance (NFHA) (aka: Fjord Alliance) was incorporated in the State of Delaware on January 4, 2024, as a nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting the Norwegian Fjord horse breed. The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has been determined that the Fjord Alliance qualifies for 501(c)(3) status. The IRS also determined that the Fjord Alliance is a public charity. Our website is https://www.fjordalliance.org/.

Purpose and Activities

The Fjord Alliance aims to educate the public about the breed’s characteristics, encourage its use and breeding, and raise public awareness of its versatility in equine sports and activities. The organization also engages in fundraising activities to support these goals. The Fjord Alliance is not a breed registry.

Membership and Benefits

Membership in the Fjord Alliance is open to anyone interested in the Fjord breed, regardless of ownership. Benefits include free entry in membership drawings, eligibility for annual awards programs, free directory listings, access to educational programs, and more.

Collaboration Proposal

The Fjord Alliance proposes a collaboration with the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry (NFHR) and the Fjord community to promote the breed and provide education. We are ready to conduct Fjord evaluations and other educational events. The Fjord Alliance suggests a meeting between the respective boards. Our elections for the Fjord Alliance board will be in February, so a joint meeting could be after March 10 or in April. We request that the NFHR respond to this letter no later than February 1, 2025. Should no response be received by the indicated date, the Fjord Alliance will continue with its initiatives to support the Fjord community independently of the NFHR. Our commitment to fostering education, awareness, and the enjoyment of Fjord horses remains steadfast, and we will continue to work collaboratively with all individuals and organizations who share this mission.

Respectfully,

Signed

Angela Miller

President
